It's Playing In The Supermarket

This is the second disc in the October 1969 "Mood" set from the Seeburg "1000" Background Music series that was sent to Seeburg's subscribers.

The sound quality was rather better than some of the ones that have come my way in the past.  I was able to identify a few of the familiar tunes.

Although we don't know the name of the sample track, it's a pleasant up tempo piece that appears to be an original composition.  So for now it is simply known as "Track 21:"

  1. A&P was a cool place to go with my grandpa to shop from the time I was about 4. I just preferred their ambiance before I knew what tht was, to Kroger and Piggly Wiggly, the local competition. And I got a kick out of helping put the stamps in books, Plaid stamps from A&P, TV Stamps, S&H Greenies...

Anyways, I especially recall the music, playing nonstop on our visits. Thanks for another gem, Swank. Let's see what we have here.

  2. That sample track is “Blue Night”, a tune from 1929 that did well for Rudy Vallee
